Installation

DO NOT COMPRESS OR EXTEND AXIALLY.

Corrugated metal hose installed in-line with the longitudinal axis of the piping should not be subjected to axial movement.
DO NOT TORQUE DURING INSTALLATION.

Metal hose assemblies should not be used to compensate for bolt hole misalignment. Use floating flanges to minimize the effects of torque, and pipe unions to alleviate twisting during connection to the piping.
DO NOT ALLOW HOSE MOVEMENT IN MULTIPLE PLANES.

Hose should never be installed like this when it will be required to move. Note that the fittings are not in line and there is torsional twist in the hose. When installed in this manner, the twist in the hose may cause premature fatigue failure.
AVOID SHARP BENDS.

The figure on the right features a sharp bend on the left of the assembly. This will adversely affect the life of the hose. Always use an elbow (as illustrated in the left hand figure).
MAINTAIN MINIMUM CENTERLINE BEND RADIUS.

The minimum centerline bend radius for dynamic flexing should never be less than the values in the product specification tables.
